Charger Beam Breakdown | BlueScope Steel
Allfab has recently worked around the clock to repair over plates and beams at BlueScope Steel’s Port Kembla Coke Ovens. During an inspection the over plates and beams were found to have deteriorated to the point of failure.
Two of Allfab’s experienced supervisors, Warren Hinde & Mark O’Keefe led multiple crews who worked around the clock for 8 days to create new beams for the North and South side of the plant.
The over plates were located 4 metres high, making the repair work more difficult and requiring the use of scaffolding to ensure safe work practices. The plates were measured on site and fabricated in our local workshop.
Well done to everyone who worked on this project. The high standard of planning, team work and quality work practices resulted in an on time, on budget and within scope breakdown.
